Get Group Key
A Group Key is used to bind a device to a designated device group or onboarding entity.
It is an essential credential for onboarding devices to the ZopToken platform.
Purpose of Group Key
A Group Key may be used for:
- Identifying the user or organization to which a device belongs
- Managing a group of devices
- Binding to a service provider or data center cluster
- Helping the platform identify the onboarding source of a device
- Controlling device onboarding permissions
The actual meaning is subject to the current platform implementation.
How to Obtain
A Group Key may be obtained through:
- Console generation
- Platform-side allocation
- Unified distribution by a service provider
- Creation during the enterprise onboarding process
- Beta invitation provision
If self-service creation is not yet available in the current version, please contact the platform side or project lead to obtain one.
How to Use
After entering the Group Key in the macOS App or device onboarding program, the device will attempt to complete binding with the platform.
Once binding succeeds, the device will appear in the corresponding account, device group, or service provider management view.
Notes
- Do not publicly share your Group Key.
- Do not commit your Group Key to public code repositories.
- If a Group Key is compromised, contact the platform side as soon as possible.
- Whether a single Group Key is allowed to bind multiple devices is subject to platform rules.
- Whether a Group Key can be revoked, rotated, or regenerated is subject to console capabilities.
